Until April 1, the Action4Climate invites young filmmakers and film lovers to make a documentary about climate change, that shows the perspective of younger age groups about climate change.

The documentary should have between one to 12 minutes and must also address how the changes associated with global warming and other climate issues influence the everyday life of young people and the measures that can be taken to sensitize the population to these problems.

The competition is divided into two categories by age groups: from 14 to 17 years and 18 to 35 years. Participation can be done individually or in groups, with the maximum of five elements. The best short of category 14-17 years takes home professional video equipment, whereas the category 18-35 years enables a prize of €11, 000 (Annual thousand). The second and third classified in this category receive £ 7,300 and £ 3,600, respectively.

The documentaries distinguished will still be inserted in circuits of film festivals and made available on the platform MTV Voices.

The competition jury will be chaired by Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci. Among the members of the jury are still other familiar names of the seventh art: Fernando Meirelles, Wim Wenders, Marc Forster and Atom Egoyan.

The Action4Climate is a project launched in 2011 by the World Bank, Global Environment Facility and by the Italian Ministry of environment, with the aim of creating an open and participative platform that involves young people in a global debate about climate change in order to promote greater local action geared towards this theme.
