London already has to circulate in the streets the first fleet of electric taxis. The British capital's mayor, Boris Johnson, had established 2018 as the deadline for all new taxis do not produce carbon emissions, but this date may be anticipated.

This first fleet, composed of 20 new taxis, was manufactured by the same company that launched the trams of London less than two years ago, referred to BusinessGreen. The new vehicles can go up to 299 with a single recharge.

In July, some 50 electric taxis should be introduced in London streets. According to Boris Johnson, taxis are responsible for one-third of carbon emissions in London.

Taxis gather thus to trams, hydrogen and the 120 buses using cooking oil as fuel, which already operate on the streets of London. The municipality's intention is to have a fleet of 1,700 green buses in 2016.
