New research says that dolphins are less intelligent than other animals

Dolphins are less intelligent than other animals and, often, more violent, more likely to fight against each other without apparent reason, according to a new survey from St. Andrews University. According to researchers from the marine mammal research unit, the dolphins are inclusive, "less sophisticated than the chickens".

The controversial study reveals that all the research done over the past decades, that advances that dolphins are among the most intelligent animals and even have characteristics similar to those of humans, is overblown.

The study says that dolphins have a "darker side and aggressive", having seen the animals the researchers began deliberate acts of violence, against each other. At the same time, these animals often try to isolate yourself and then kill small dolphins, without any intention of eating the carcass.

Another Australian study, which follows six years ago, revealed, in turn, that male gangs try to enforce his authority while riding, by force, other males, resulting in bloody fights.

Second Justin Gregg, of the US Dolphin Communication Project, dolphins are "fascinating" but, in terms of intelligence, are not close than they have been portrayed. "The dolphins have a unique whistle and it is possible that they use to communicate. But do not have alarm calls or food, so, in this respect, are less sophisticated than the chickens, "he explained.

"If we could stop looking at them on our lens of human beings, maybe we opened our minds to the idea of many other species that have wonderful lives," concluded.

The two studies collide so polemic, with everything that has been so far discovered about dolphins, which has led several scientists and activists trying to give the dolphins a few human rights, for its eventual moral sophistication.

Last year, in the United States, some scientists have tried that dolphins were reclassified as non-human people.
