USA: anonymous Investor buying 1,200 laying hens and release them in the wild
About 1,200 chickens in Northern California are preparing finally to have comfortable and deserved rest on the East coast of the United States, where they will live out of cages and with enough space to spread their wings. Chicken Airlift operation began last month with the call by a farmer for the Animal Shelter Place â" thousands of laying hens, who had already served its usefulness, were about to be killed by carbon monoxide. The animal advocacy group initiated a single rescue effort that will send all the chickens in a cargo flight â" which cost ⬠38 thousand (R $ 117 thousand) â", from California to New York. Hence, the animals will be transported to shelters where they can live freely, like never before. The airlift is being funded by an anonymous donor."They will be able to spread his wings and feel the sunlight for the first time in their lives. It's a joy, honor and a privilege for us to give these chickens a second chance, "said Jenny Brown, the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, in New York, which will receive 200 animals. The Huffington Post shows that chickens are transported to different shelters, in which are already being prepared, turf and perches to a wooded area where animals can circulate.Laying hens are usually too skinny for human consumption and end up being slaughtered after they lay eggs. These, fortunately, managed to be spared a sad outcome.
