The adventures of Monica's gang, Maurício de Sousa, are the subject of the ecological theme park that will be inaugurated in Amadora, municipality of comic book (BD) its brand image. The inauguration is scheduled for next Saturday, November 16 by 10:0.

The Park, which is the result of an initiative of the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (CMA) and Valorsul (recovery and Treatment of solid waste in the regions of Lisbon and of the West), was built using various materials recycled and reusable. In total, were reused in the works about 100 cubic meters of organic material, thousand cubic meters of waste from demolition and construction that were removed from buildings that were previously in place and 14 cubic meters of recycled rubber, referred to a statement from Valorsul and CMA.

Besides the material reused that was used, 21 garden benches were installed, "resulting in its entirety from recycled material". The entities indicate that cutting the grass â€" about two cubic meters in each operation-resulting from the maintenance of the Park, will be "always" delivered at the Ecocentre and subsequently forwarded to the treatment plant and Organic.

Given the amount of recycled and reused materials used in construction of space, the Park underwent a candidacy in the context of the European week for waste prevention, to be held between 16 and 24 November.

Onsite, visitors will be able to find several characters from Turma da Monica-like Smudge, the Chives, Magali, Bidu and Monica itself, among others. The characters were built on a scale increased and are "strategically positioned" in various locations, that "allow and encourage direct and interactive contact with the children," said the statement.

The Park has four thousand square meters and will be the first Comic theme space of Maurício de Sousa in Europe. The Park is located in Culture factory, a zone of Falagueira who was degraded, where in the past was the International Festival of Comics da Amadora, one of the largest in the country.
