For eleven years, Colin Stokes built an elaborate House of hobbit in Chedglow, Wiltshire, a lonely job and that culminated in a two-story magic property, which still today surprises its visitors.

Stokes, who bought the land in the years 80, admitted that he let himself be carried away by the project, eventually building a large House. "There were many loose rocks on the ground, started using them to build the barn. I started very slowly, but the construction was booming, "explained Stokes to the British press. "I think I got carried away, I got carried away."

The Briton, a plastic artist, used various ancient techniques of construction, made towers and stained glass by hand.

As a first step, the sexagenarian today intended to build a granary square. The photos below show her leaving to realize how excited he was.

The House has never had a draft or even drawing. Everything grew organically and depending on the creativity of the artist, day after day. "Don't call it hobbit House, never made a point that was. Is my barn, "he explains.

In 2000, the operation of a quarry next came withdraw peace to property, and Stokes sold his house/barn. "When I sold it, I began to dream of the House every night. I felt like I had lost something. It was a difficult decision but I think the best I've made, "he continued.

Now, the hobbit is highly requested by photographers, tourists and onlookers. See some of the pictures.
